Lyfebulb partners with Sensulin to host a Diabetes event at Le Colonial

On August 21, 2015, we hosted our very first Lyfebulb Connect Event outside of New York City, in Stockholm, Sweden. Paired with a great roster of speakers, we all came together because we share the same vision and the same goal: to improve the quality of life of those living with diabetes. At the event, we heard from our founder and diabetes expert, as well as diabetes patient herself, Dr. Karin Hehenberger, about Lyfebulb’s determination to improve the quality of life for people living with diabetes. Lyfebulb achieves this by hosting informational and awareness-enhancing events such as this one, as well as identifying and supporting new solutions and products that fit our vision. Karin reached out to the audience to engage them in the pursuit and development of such products and pointed out the important role patients play.
This event was co-hosted with Dance Biopharm, which is raising capital to accelerate the clinical development of a novel inhaled insulin that potentially could improve the convenience as well as the compliance of people living with diabetes. Dr. John Patton, CEO of Dance Biopharm, spoke to the audience and discussed the clinical development of their inhaled insulin, and provided a demonstration of their prototype product.
We also had the pleasure to hear from Dr. Kerstin Brismar, renowned researcher and medical doctor from the Karolinska Institute, Stig Nyman, former Stockholm County Council who spoke about the new Diabetes Center of Excellence to be built in Stockholm, and Katarina Bergshem, a diabetes patient advocate. We look forward to continued collaborations with patient organizations and companies to host future Lyfebulb Connect events in Sweden.
